A post didn’t publish

Check the Failed status on Posts. The usual cause is a LinkedIn connection that expired between scheduling and the slot arriving. Reconnect the account under Settings → Personal brand → Social accounts, then reschedule the post.
Failed posts do not retry on their own. If a connection lapsed while you weren’t watching, everything scheduled in that window failed silently. Check the Failed filter after any gap.

Analytics look stale or empty

Two causes, in order of likelihood:
  1. The extension isn’t connected. Some LinkedIn metrics are only reachable while signed in on LinkedIn itself. See the extension.
  2. The data hasn’t synced yet. The analytics header shows when it last did.

Output doesn’t sound like me

Work through these in order:
1

Check your brand voice is set up

This is the cause most of the time. See brand voice.
2

Check your strategy profile

Ask “show me my current strategy”. A too-broad audience produces generic writing no prompt can fix.
3

Narrow your context sources

All five start on. Viral Posts in particular pulls drafts toward other people’s structures. See context.
4

Then look at the prompt

Add the audience and the ending. See the cookbook.
Asking for “my brand voice” in the prompt won’t help — it’s already applied.

I asked for a post and got ideas

If your request had no topic, Depost AI offers ideas to choose from instead. Add a subject:
  • “Write a post in my voice” → ideas
  • “Write a post about why our first three hires failed” → a draft

Chat answers feel thin

Check the Effort control first. On Fast, Depost AI skips the source search entirely — so your posts, bookmarks and library aren’t read at all, however many you left switched on. Switch to Thinking and ask again. See Thinking or Fast. If you were already on Thinking, open the Sources chip on the answer to see what it actually found. A source that’s switched on but empty contributes nothing — an empty library or no published history are the common ones. No Sources chip at all means nothing was retrieved.

Someone can’t see a brand

Role and brand access are separate. Being an Editor doesn’t grant every brand — check the Brands column under Workspace → People. See invite your team.

A strategy change didn’t take effect

Reviewing a strategy proposes a change and waits. Say “apply that” to save it. See your content strategy.

My drafts column has thousands of posts

Generated drafts accumulate. Filter by label or date rather than scrolling, and prune periodically — see Posts.
