# Review and approval

> Send a post to a reviewer, leave comments, and record a decision.

Review is optional. Working alone you'll publish straight from a draft. Working with anyone
else — a colleague, a client, a legal check — this is how a post gets signed off without
leaving Depost AI.

## Sending a post for review

Open the post and use **Assign Reviewer**. That moves it to **Review** status, so it shows
in that column on the board and appears in the reviewer's queue.

</Frame>

The reviewer can approve it, reject it, and record a decision. Approving moves it to
**Approved**; rejecting sends it back so it can be reworked.

## Comments

**Post comment** leaves a note on the draft.

<Info>
  Comments are internal. They stay in Depost AI and never appear on LinkedIn, so they're safe
  for blunt feedback and open questions.
</Info>

Use them for anything specific — a line that doesn't work, a claim that needs checking, a
figure to confirm. Vague approval ("looks good") is better said out loud than recorded here.

## Notifications

Being assigned a review notifies the reviewer. If a post is generating more noise than you
want, **Unsubscribe from updates** stops notifications for that post without affecting
anyone else's.

## Making review work

<Steps>
  <Step title="Agree what review is for">
    Catching errors is a different job from improving writing. Reviewers who don't know
    which they're doing rewrite everything.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Assign one reviewer">
    Two reviewers means two opinions and no decision.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Comment on specifics">
    Point at the line, not the post.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Approve, then schedule">
    Approved posts still need a slot — approval isn't publication.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  Check the **Review** column regularly. A post sitting there is blocked on a person, and
  unlike a draft it won't move on its own.
</Tip>
